The Struggle Is Real, But Are You The Actual Struggle ?

When you are always waiting for that future you’ve dreamed of to land in your lap, it can lead to so many downs in your mind during the very time you should be focusing on the here and now, on the day you should be living right in this moment where you can actually make something good happen. Where you can change the direction of your life by willfully taking actions to bring that future closer and closer every day.

Today has 24 hours in which you can either make yourself or break yourself. You can stay inside your current moment and create the best version of yourself or, you can daydream into the future and waste so much precious time frollicing about in ‘what if’ land.

‘WHAT IF’s’, are more worry than anything else. They are a procrastinator’s favorite tool because what else could you do if you couldn’t wallow in familiarity. Those what it’s are more likely to rob you of time better spent making sure today, these exact 24 hours, is all you have to accomplish, all you have to get through, all you actually need in order to make a difference in the direction of your life! In the way your tomorrow goes.

If you keep wandering through your past and holding close all the things or people that have hurt you, all the things you considered not fair, all the things that keep you asking that old question, ‘why me’, then you will miss most of those 24 hours simply because you’ve tagged yourself as ‘that will never be me, look what I’ve been through’! Although you may consider yourself a survivor, if you can’t see that surviving your life is simply the work that had to be done to push you to the here and now, that all those things you survived were just dots on the map to get you from point A to point B, then what you are trying to perceive for your future will always be tainted by shit, fucks, and dams. Today should be reserved for doing your best and making today a totally new experience because of your past experiences.

The past is nothing more than lessons learned. It’s how you developed the art of better choice-making so that history can never (or should never) be repeated. If fear of the same failures is your wheelhouse, then your life can only feel like a revolving door, a stuckness in patterns, a poor mindset. The past will always remain your ball and chain if you can’t step out on the other side of that constantly turning door. Those 1,000 steps you think you’ve been taking will have all been stepped in the exact same place without ever moving forward. The whole point of everything is to get through the fucking door, right?

There is such a common line between memory (past) and fantasy (future). Memory will always keep you still and fantasy will always make you believe that you will just ‘be there’ without doing all the work in between to get you there. You have to learn to live comfortably somewhere in between these two things and allow what’s happening in this very moment (today) to create satisfaction, body, heart, and soul. Stop beating yourself up. Remember that things usually work out even if your original ‘you in the future’ jumps ship and moves you into another or different opportunity that you had not anticipated. We call that a happy accident! One of those you didn’t even know you wanted it until you found it kind of moments!

Surprises, new options, different directions, modernized thinking, are what happens historically in life so never dispense of them without full consideration of every pro and con on your part. You may actually fall in love with your life again!

The future is not already there. The future is what you create!
